# Hide parent product's extra images for this variant: Explained

This toggle allows you to hide the image gallery from the parent product

By default, your product variants will inherit the main image and image gallery from the parent product. If you upload images to a variant however, then only the variant’s images will be shown when selected by the customer.

But, what happens if you don’t want a variant to inherit the gallery images from the parent nor do you want to upload custom ones? That is where this toggle comes in.

If enabled on a variant, **no gallery images will show on the product page** when the variant is selected by the customer.
