Due to the current restrictions and locks that Webflow places on Webflow Ecommerce sites (such as preventing changing store collection or slug names), we recommend using a CMS site for CartGenie.
It is cheaper: Webflow CMS plan will cost less per month than an Ecommerce plan
It allows you to maintain current product URLs: A CMS site allows CartGenie to use /products/… as the slug of your products collection, which will mean your product URLs won’t change from your current site (better for SEO and preventing broken links). If you use your existing Ecommerce site, you will need to create a new product collection with a different URL (such as /shop/…)
It is not as restricted: Webflow Ecommerce prevents you from removing store pages, removing store collections, renaming the collections, etc.
Easy to revert back to WF Ecommerce: If worse comes to worst, all you have to do to switch your site back is to change your domain’s DNS settings to point to your original Webflow Ecom site
You must migrate your site - Because you can’t just “turn off” ecommerce in Webflow yet, you will need to manually migrate your site design (CartGenie can migrate your orders, products, categories, & discounts)
