PayPal is a trusted global payment gateway that lets customers pay using their PayPal balance, linked bank accounts, or credit/debit cards—without entering card details directly on your site. Adding PayPal to your checkout gives buyers a fast, secure, and familiar way to complete purchases, which can help boost conversions and build trust.
To add PayPal as a checkout option on your store, go to the Settings > Payment Gateway page in CartGenie.
Go to Payment GatewaysThen click the “Connect” button underneath the Paypal logo.

This will open a popup which will ask you to log in to your PayPal account or create a new one. You must have a PayPal Business account in order to connect to CartGenie.
Keep going through the steps and authorize CartGenie to connect to your account.

Once done, you’ll be sent back to CartGenie and you’ll see the “Connect” button under PayPal now says “Disconnect”.
PayPal is now officially able to be used by customers on your store!
If you’ve used CartGenie’s checkout page template, then this step is already done!
If not, the simplest way to add Paypal to your store is to use our Webflow Designer Extension. Click the app icon in Webflow and go to the CartGenie app. Select Create Product Pages, then select either page templates or components and go to the checkout page to add.

There are several reasons why Paypal might not show up at checkout. Here is a quick list to run down to troubleshoot this issue:
CartGenie’s test order mode only works with credit cards and so all other payment methods are hidden at checkout. Turn off test order mode in Payment Gateway settings to test a live payment.

PayPal must be connected directly inside CartGenie before it can appear at checkout.
Go to CartGenie > Payment Gateway settings and make sure PayPal is connected and active.
If it was recently connected or updated, refresh/re-save the payment gateway settings and test checkout again.
PayPal is widely available, but not available in every country or region. If the customer is located in a country where PayPal is not supported, the PayPal option may not appear or may fail during checkout.
PayPal supports many currencies, but not every currency. If your store is using a currency that PayPal does not support for checkout, PayPal may not appear.
Common supported currencies include USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, CHF, DKK, NOK, PLN, SEK, and others.
See full supported currency list here.
Sometimes your browser may cache payment settings from previous page loads, especially if you visited checkout before enabling PayPal.
Try clearing your browser cache, using an incognito/private window, or testing in a different browser.
Live PayPal payments should run on a secure checkout page. If the store is loading over HTTP, has SSL issues, or has mixed-content errors, PayPal may not appear or may fail during checkout.
Make sure the page loads with a valid HTTPS URL, then republish your site and test again.
