We recommend only working in CartGenie to ensure all products and edits are created properly and synced to both platforms.
This is especially important when working on a product with variants as variant options are not able to be created in Webflow and must be done in CartGenie’s dashboard.
Most product & category fields in CartGenie do technically support two-way sync between Webflow and our CartGenie dashboard. This means that you can edit these specific fields in either platform and it will be synced back to the other.
The following info should sync both ways:
Primary Product Fields:
Name, slug, description, price, compare_at_price, sku, shippable, billing_method, track_inventory, stock, weight, width, heigh, length.
Image and extra images (multi-image) will sync both ways
If an image is replaced in Webflow with the same file name, we won’t recognize it and sync to CartGenie
Additional custom fields:
All additional custom fields should two way sync except Image, Multi-Image, File, Reference, and MultiReference types.
We also recommend only adding custom fields in CartGenie (via product settings or category settings), which will sync back to Webflow to be used in the designer there.
The reason for this is because while most fields will sync both ways, there are a few fields (such as ‘file’, ‘image’, ‘ref’, and ‘multi-ref’ which cause issues if added in Webflow first.
No, you can simply publish the individual product to update it across both locations. (Saving changes as draft will not be synced to CartGenie)
All changes in CartGenie are automatically saved in Webflow. If you save a product as draft, it will immediately be saved as draft it Webflow. If you publish a product in CartGenie, it will be published in Webflow immediately. You do not need to re-publish your entire Webflow site to see the changes.
Similarly any changes to a product (from fields mentioned above) that are saved/published in Webflow will be synced back to CartGenie.
