How to format & style product descriptions using the visual editor

CartGenie uses a Rich Text CMS field for the product description, which means that you have a ton of flexibility in how you want a description to appear!

Using the Visual Editor

When entering a description of a product in CartGenie, you can either use our easy to use Visual Editor or HTML. We recommend sticking to the Visual Editor as it helps prevent any code errors which can mess up your site.

Here’s an overview of each of the supported functions:

• Formats

  • Headings (h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6): Add different hierarchies of section titles to your product description

  • Paragraph

  • Bullets

  • Numbers

  • Blockquote

  • Code Block: for displaying code, not executing it

  • HTML Embed: for adding executable code to your Webflow product page

• Styles

  • Bold

  • Italic

  • Underline

  • Strikethrough

  • Superscript

  • Subscript

• Alignment

  • Left

  • Center

  • Right

  • Justify

• Media

  • Links

  • Images

  • Youtube & Vimeo, DailyMotion Embeds

    • Be sure to use the “Share” URL instead of the browser URL

  • SoundCloud

    • Be sure to use the “Share” URL instead of the browser URL

  • Google Maps

    • The popup for a Google maps embed requires adding your Google Maps API key

Using the Code Editor

If you prefer, you can toggle off the Visual Editor to edit in HTML. We recommend against this unless you have experience writing in code as any mistakes can cause your site to break.

Styling Product Descriptions

The styling of your product descriptions (like all design elements for your products) will be done in Webflow.

Go to your Products Template page in Webflow and select the Rich Text Block that is used for your product description.

Then, edit the font, colors, size, line-height, etc. as desired.
