How to import categories

Instead of adding them manually, you can import categories directly into CartGenie!

When Importing Products

The easiest way to import categories and tie them to your products is to simply import the products themselves!

When importing products, if you add a category name to the “Product Category” column, then CartGenie automatically creates a category with that name and adds the product you were importing to it.

When Importing Categories

You can also easily import a list of categories using a csv file. Simply go to the Categories page in CartGenie and click on the “Import” button in the top right.

Note: Importing categories this way will not assign any products to them. You will need to go back into your products and add them to the category once created.

Upload a CSV with the following columns:

• Name

  • The name of your category

  • Ex: Featured Products

• Slug

  • The slug of the category page

  • Ex: featured-products
